These terms cover Slatefront, a service for turning topics, images, and drawings into educational animations. By using Slatefront, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Who can use Slatefront
You must be at least 13 years old and meet any higher minimum age required where you live. If you are under the age of legal adulthood, you must have a parent or guardian's permission to use Slatefront. Schools and educators are responsible for checking that their use is permitted by their institution and that they have any required permissions for material they upload.
Your account
Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and contact us if you suspect someone else is using your account. Do not share an account to bypass usage limits or create accounts to repeatedly claim introductory credits. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.
Your content and generated animations
You keep your rights in the text, images, drawings, and other material you submit. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload that material and have Slatefront process it. Do not upload confidential records, sensitive personal information, or identifiable student information unless you are entitled to do so and it is appropriate for this service.
You give Slatefront permission to host, copy, process, transmit, and display your submissions and generated content as needed to provide the features you request, troubleshoot the service, and protect it against misuse. This permission does not transfer ownership of your submissions to us.
Slatefront does not claim ownership of your generated animations. You are responsible for reviewing how you use or share them and respecting other people's rights. AI outputs may be similar to other users' outputs, and we cannot guarantee that every output is original or eligible for copyright protection.
Check AI-generated information
Slatefront is a learning aid. Generated explanations, code, animations, and quizzes can contain mistakes or misleading information. Review outputs before using them in lessons, assignments, or other work, and verify important facts with reliable sources. Outputs are not professional medical, legal, financial, or other regulated advice. Do not rely on them alone for decisions that could affect someone's health, safety, rights, or opportunities.
Acceptable use
Use Slatefront lawfully and respect other people. You must not:
- Upload content that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Use the service for exploitation, harassment, fraud, or other unlawful harm.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data, introduce malicious code, or interfere with the service.
- Bypass access controls, credit limits, or other safeguards, or overload the service through unauthorized automation.
- Misrepresent AI-generated material as verified fact or use it to evade academic rules that apply to you.
Credits and paid features
Generation may use credits or be subject to other limits shown in the product. Credits measure access to Slatefront features; they are not currency and have no fixed cash equivalent. Available features, credit costs, and limits may change, and the product will show the terms that apply when you use or purchase a feature.
If a paid option is offered, review its price, billing frequency, renewal terms, and cancellation information before purchasing. Any applicable refund or consumer rights under law remain available to you. Contact us if you believe a charge or credit deduction is incorrect.
Service changes and account restrictions
Features may change, be unavailable, or fail to produce an output. Keep your own copies of work that matters to you. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect users, comply with law, or address a breach of these terms. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us about it.
You can stop using Slatefront at any time. To request account closure and deletion of associated personal information, contact us using the address below. The Privacy Policy explains how deletion requests and necessary retention are handled.
Responsibility and your rights
We do not promise that Slatefront will always be available or that generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for every purpose. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Slatefront is not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on unverified generated content or from events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits consumer or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. We will give appropriate notice of material changes, and seek agreement where required by law.
